I used to have a great recipe for cut out cookies but I lost it. I've tried severall others and didn't care for the taste all that much.

Please share with me your favorite cut out cookie and icing recipe that you use.

I want cookies that not only look good but also taste good. I think the plain royal icing doesn't taste well and most cut out cookies are bland.

Thanks for your help guys. You are the BEST!

This is my favorite cookie recipe:

I like Toba's Glace icing to decorate - I'm not a big fan or Royal Icing. I use Royal only when I absolutely have to.

I just love putting MMF on the cookie cutouts. It's easy, tasty, and makes a beautiful cookie. Once it's on the cookie, the MMF is not chewy at all & people really like it. I've no been using the NFSC recipe (using almond extract) with the MMF and iit's great!

I use the NoFail sugar cookie recipe with extra vanilla and almond extract added. They were absolutely HEAVENLY with Butavan, but it's no longer available. icon_cry.gif Try adding a little clear vanilla and/or almond extract to royal for flavor.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try some of these out. At least now I have a few to pick from.

I am not one for trying new recipes out unless someone tells me they are good. I can't afford to make things and have to throw them out. SO your pointers are very helpful. Thanks again

regular nfsc with vanilla, mmf on top with royal accents. some may say it's too bland b/c they are not sickly sweet, but i've gotten a LOT of rave reviews for them...just did my mmf cutouts last night and will bake the cookies tonight!

Oh, and I put a few drops of bavarian cream Lorann oil in my mmf...tasty! thumbs_up.gif
