The countdown is on!! Tomorrow nite we are flying to Ft Lauderdale and then on Sun we are driving to Orlando for a week's vacation.
Does anyone have any interesting places to visit while i'm there. Of course on one day we're doing WDW and another major park but I want to see other things too. I have a 3yr old and a 10yr old boys.
Its a budget trip all the way! Airline is Skybus (Great deal!!) and our one hotel nite is planned thru Skybus, our car rental is thru Enterprise deal with the Entertainment Book discount and my in laws are giving us their time share condo in Kissimmee. So if anyone has a great way to get deep discounted tickets to anything - Please let me know!!

My kids would be so jealous! The one thing that my kids love to do in Orlando (5 and 8 yrs. old) is go to the "upside-down house". It's on International drive and it's actually a hands-on science exhibit with so many cool things to do. Your older one will love it, but I brought my dd there when she was 3 and, with help, she had a great time.
Here is a link to that and the "Pointe" ....a plaza full of stuff....including FAO Schwartz.

Hey Barbaranoel-
Good to hear about your wonderful vacation!! I live in Orlando. There is a ton of stuff to do here. I live on the East side of town, closer to the coast.
International Drive has some cool places. Wonderworks, the "uside down" house is always a hit for the kids. My 8 year old son loves the Fun Spot. Unfortunately, Pointe Orlando has changed a bit. FAO is no longer there. Still, a cool place to walk around.
You may also want to check out the Olde Town. An olddie but goodie. All of the attractions now have places for people to hang out. Downtown Disney is fun and Citywalk too.
I hope you enjoy your trip. You will have to let us know when you get back!!
Don't forget to go to the beach in Ft. Lauderdale before heading to Orlando. Talk about a FREEBEE!
Just playing in the sand (building sandcastles, etc. ) soaking up some rays and getting your feet wet is a great way to start your vacation.
And in Kissimmee is Medieval Times dinner show. It is a live jousting match indoors arena, while you eat dinner, medieval style, with your fingers. The kids love that! Here's the link and it says you can get discounts by booking online.

Have fun.
Sea World is always nice for all ages.
Kennedy Space Center is a short drive from Orlando (this one may be a little boring for your little one)
Downtown Disney has a bunch of cool shops - Legoworld would be cool for the little one. They also have Rainforest Cafe - it's a little expensive to eat at, but the kids usually love it. Every few minutes the lights go dim and there is a 'storm' in the restaurant.
Wet & wild for water fun.
There is a mini-go cart place (can't remember the name, but I'll look it up)
There are miniature golf places all over Orlando.
I'll try to think of some more!
