I was looking for a forum topic on making the bowling cake with a sheet cake, ball and pins. I have not been able to find it. If anyone has any suggestions on making this cake I would be sooo thankful. I have no idea about supporting the ball cake to sit on the sheet cake, how to support the pins (cookies) or secure them to the cake, etc. icon_cry.gif If you have the link to the original post, please send it, if not, any advice would keep me from having a nervous breakdown (ok, I'm being a little dramatic) Please help!

as far as the cookies, i would put lollipop sticks in the cookies before you bake them. if you have already baked the cookies, try popsicle sticks glued to the back with thick rc.

regarding the ball. i've put basketball on a sheet cake and it was fine. i put a dowel through the middle of the ball down through the sheet cake to help stabilize it.

good luck!!

I've seen suggestions on putting a straw into the cake and then putting the cookie-on-a-stick into the straw for better support.l

I wish I had read this helpful tip before I did my flower garden cake for my niece's wedding shower! In the pics, you can kinda see where I put some small cookies around the base of the stick to hold it up! Then tended to lean over and fall.
