can someone please give me really dumbed down instructions on how to pipe roses or simple flowers please. For some reason I cant get the knack of it and its making me very very very sad.

Are you able to take any Wilton classes. You don't say where you are at (from) If you could take a class with a great teacher you would be able to understand how to do different flowers. Or hey just a thought how about a video or dvd on flower making. Wilton has some for sale.
