I made Shirley's IMBC recipe from this site......YUMMM. I put it in the fridge and got it out the next day to use it and it would not soften up good, so I put it back in the mixer and it turned to this soupy mess, sort of curdled looking.......Oh, it tasted so good and looked beautiful the night before, what did I do wrong?? icon_cry.gif Has anyone else had this happen. Shirley, where are you????? lol

Yes-It gets hard from the fat. It will look ugly and pull together. I use SMBC and I just toucj a blow torch to the side of my bowl. You should take it a couple of hours before you plan on using it. It also best served at room temperature.

Here I am. Yah, what they said! icon_biggrin.gif
Glad it worked out for you. It really needs to sit out at room temp. for about an hour and then rebeat. Give us some feedback on how you felt about it after icing the cake, did it go on easily? And did you have any problems smoothing?

Whew!!!!!!! All done frosting. It turned out great. Even though it was not like any icing that I had ever used, it turned out smooth. I made my first fondant bow and made a package cake. I will post pics tomorrow cuz I don't need the cake until tomorrow evening. And I don't want the bow to be in the fridge. I can't wait to see what all the people have to say about the icing. Thanks so much for your help........... thumbs_up.gif
