I just love the NFSC recipe, and besides vanilla and almond, was wondering of any of you have used other flavors. I am so tempted to try new flavors (have alot of Loran oils) in the dough. icon_rolleyes.gif

I just made a batch and used peppermint extract.
It was different, but still tasty. I made them into Christmas shapes for my son's daycare...They were good enough to have as a 'seasonal' flavor for cookie baskets!

I have used lemon extract instead of vanilla/almond, but I didn't think the flavor was pronounced enough. Next time I'll add in some zest, too!

No Fail Sugar Cookies

They hold up to detailed cutters, don't spred during baking, and stay flat on top for decorating.

only vanilla here...don't know how I'd like others, although peppermint extract sounds like a winner to me.

I have some bavarian cream and champagne lorann oils...hmm...

I was tempted to add some lemon or orange zest to mine. I'll do that next time just to see how they turn out.

Even though I am exhausted from all the cookie orders from Christmas, am already thinking ahead to Valentine's day and what flavor to make the cookies for bouquets...........then it struck me, instead of the vanilla/almond combination, how about cherry/almond?! That would work with pink/red cookie hearts! icon_lol.gif
