If anyone reads this in the next couple of hours, I'm in the middle of doing a cake for this evening and have lots of roses to work with, but not much else (six yellow, nine pink, fifteen purple). They're in bright colors and I have an 8 inch cake. Any photos that could help? Sorry, I'm so lame when trying to come up with decoration ideas.

Thanks in advance!

well, if it's a round, do them in a half moon kind of thing around one side.

if it's a square, i'd do them around one corner

They're dried BC. I'm thinking to just pile them all on top. The only problem is that I was using leftover icing and don't have enough to make mounds! I don't know how I get myself into these situations!

I am new to this, but I have seen one that I really liked. If you cake is round you start at the top and follow the edge a bit then go down the side to the bottom...almost like an "s". You could use all of one color, but I like lots of colors and would use each color and rotate placing the colors on!

Do you have some of the white icing you used to cover the cake? If you do, use that one... it shouldn't be a problem. Now with rose designs, I would go to the gallery, they have TONS of examples there. HTH

Ok, don't know how to add pics in message but if you look in my photos, you'll see a cake with roses stacked in the center and a lot of green leaves and a green leaf border.

Thank you for all your advice!

I think it was your cake that inspired me in the gallery, Daisy. Of course, when I actually got to it, I ended up doing something totally different, but they were really happy with it - and I used up all my leftover icing from the previous projects!

Thanks again!
