Update on the peanut butter cookies She wants 5 dozen packages.
As for me I'm a fulltime mom I have a 13yr, 6yr(how will be 7 on the 22nd) and a 4yr. I stopped working out of the house when my second child was born. It just dosen't pay to work and then hand all that money over to daycare and gas going to work. When my 4yr goes to school in Sept. I'm going back to work.

Oh, I can relate ... I pulled an all nighter last Thursday. It was very weird, my husband got up at 5:30 to make some coffee and brought me a cup. He couldn't believe I was still up. I sent the kids off to school and slept about 3 hours. I still haven't made up the lost time. I'm like you - can't turn the orders or $ down.

Best of luck ... we'll be able to sleep in another week or two.

I was up last night late, too. I'd dropped DS off at the mall at about 3 pm., and I used the "quiet time" I had to work on those 40 ornament cupcakes and the church's cake.

The FBCT I did (almost the whole top size) for the 13x9 didn't come out the way I wanted. It cracked on top in the middle, so I let it crust up and "ironed" it out with VIVA.

After I cleaned the kitchen (if you can call it that in the middle of a cake rush), went into the bedroom to change the sheets. Found out a wonderful bit of news--- icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif My soft-sided waterbed has sprung a leak! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Yeah.

So, if it's not bad enough that I've got everything ELSE to do this week, I've gotta find a new king-sized mattress for the bed! Not to mention taking down the waterbed and draining it and hauling it out. Then hauling in the NEW mattress.

However, in the spirit of the Season, I am very, very grateful to be able to AFFORD another mattress, and for having cake orders, etc. thumbs_up.gif

GAH!

12/17: 19 dozen oreo, mint oreo, and peanut butter truffles, and baking for the next week.

12/18: 15 mini cakes, 7 dozen cookies

12/21: 1/4 sheet cake with boobs

VACakelady Happy birthday In advance party.gifparty.gif I did have a home based store front. I do a few home based busineses. Myself and 3 other women shared rent but they are unable to help with rent so after the first of the yaer I will be letting it go. I will now have more time for my cake passion icon_lol.gificon_cry.gificon_lol.gificon_cry.gif You all know that feeling icon_biggrin.gif Busy and CRAZY at the same time that is what we are discussing thumbs_up.gif I am amazed by most of you on here. Full time jobs and baking. I wa spart time and still had troubles. But DH works over night so leaves me to do the shuttiling to dance class and girl scouts. DS and DD have a paper route. So I take them to do that. BUT after WED. DS will have his liscense. So I will have more me time. I can vouch for how busy KNOXCOP (MOM) can be she goes missing at our supper table every so often. She is one BUSY woman icon_eek.gif and CRAZY at times icon_eek.gif And my hats off to all you who are so swamped. Good Luck at the caking you do thumbs_up.gif

I'll be just fine now that I am on vacation. I did all my shopping for Christmas dinner and baking. I'm almost finished cleaning house (I will work the rest in between cakes). I only have about 5 more cakes and 3 of them are easy pound cakes. I have to make more cake balls. which I will do on Tuesday.
I plan to make Italian cream cake for Xmas dessert and a cake ball tree, I have a sweet potato cheesecake and some choc chip cookie dough in the freezer. I may get around to making some sugar cookies also.

Well I started my first hockey cake yesterday it was suppose to be 2 9X13's together but it wasn't big enough so I had to make 2 11X15's. Also this morning my mom called and hit me with another order for her boss, 80 more cake balls for wednesday. She's like ..."do you think you can pull it off?" When it comes to something so easy to make and the amount of $$ you get for them, I'd do them in my sleep if I had too! lol

VACakelady, Happy Birthday! thumbs_up.gif

Making up 15 gift baskets and candy towers this week for my DH's clients and then I have to deliver them. Some are 1 1/2 hours away. I'm making pretty much a ton of cookies, fudge, spiced nuts, flavored popcorn, almond roca, pepermint bark, dipped candies, marzipan, snowman MM pops, cocoa cones and anything else I can think of. I'm making a tiered snowman cake for one client, individual cheesecakes for another client, decorated snowflake cupcakes and a choc.- Heath cake for one, and a choc.- coconut burbon cake for another.
icon_cry.gif Did I mention he told me last week on Wed. night he needed all of this done by TH. this week! icon_eek.gif

I also am making cookies and frosting for my sons class and taking in decorating items so the kids can decorate cookies on TH. and then doing the same on FRI. for my daughters class.

I'm having Christmas dinner for my in-laws at my house on Sunday and have to cook and make desserts, but I'm going to procrastinate on this one till I'm done with the baskets and candy towers.

Hope you all are doing well and get through the holidays without a glich!

Merry Christmas!

I just looked at your website... cute! cakes. I assume you have a shop, regardless I looked at your prices and have to wonder do you make any profit? Those prices are like less than wholesale. I'm not being ugly! Just really curious?

Mypastrychef: No I do not have a shop, just a home kitchen. The only prices I have on the website are things that RARELY sell at all. Maybe 1 order a year or so. My full time job pays the bills, this is my spending money. It's not a passion, it's just money. I do not love to do this stuff like so many here. I took a wilton class out of boredom and next thing I know, I have a thriving business that I didn't want. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful and proud of it, but when it consumes every ounce of time you have, it's too much. I'm getting much better at saying NO these days.

Jelligirl, the only reason I have orders is because they are for my DH's business clients other wise it would only be 1 order for a birthday cake and now she's saying $30 for a cake is too pricey so I'll probly have no real orders now since I obviously am not charging my DH since it all comes from the same houses income anyways.
