So I have a groom's cake due on Saturday and I am needing edible images for it. I checked with Wal-Mart and they said that they'd do it for me...$5 per sheet.

I am doing a cake similar to this...

except instead of chocolate BC basketweave, the bride wants the sides to be camoflage and edible images on each platform. By the way, each platform/level will be 6"X6" because I am using 12" square cake pans.

Here are my questions...
1. Any idea what size the edible image sheets are at Wal-Mart. I would like to get 2 pictures on one sheet. (Maybe Sam's Club has larger sheets available??)
2. Can I apply the edible image over camoflage icing or should I use chocolate or white icing? I don't want the pattern of the camoflage to interfere with the pictures.
3. How do I apply the edible images to my cake?

Like I said, I am an edible image virgin...I have no idea what I am doing with these things. But I would love to learn. Please share all your great knowledge with me! Thanks so much! icon_biggrin.gif

I think you will need to ask Walmart the size of their sheets

And if they can put 2 pics on a page.

I use KopyKake and when I want to do special effects I use another program and then just send it to the proper printer.

Then it is best if you use white icing where you plan to place the F sheet. I do not recommend that you use the cammoflauge.

Applying the sheets is the easiest. First I freeze the frosting sheet for about 5 -10 SECONDS then remove it from the backing by running it against a counter top with a sharp edge. While it is still hard (in another words work quickly) place it where you want.

Good Luck

Okay. I can do that.
Thanks!

Anyone else happen to know what size Wal-Mart's sheets are? I talked to a lady up there who obviously didn't think I knew what I was talking about and she wasn't all that helpful. She said, "You just tell us what size cake you have and we can make it fit for you." Kinda frustrating.
