I am making a cake for Friday. It is a Webkinz birthday cake and I wanted to make a 1/4 sheet cake with the webkinz made out of cupcakes sitting on the cake...so it looks like the real animals sitting there. I do not like to use fondant at all and was wondering if anyone knows how to make these animals or knows of any websites that could help. Thanks! (I am a beginner decorator).

I'm not sure exactly how to do these. I know when you go to the webkinz web site
http://www.webkinz.com/
the lions face looks like you could do it on a cupcake, same with the others.
They are drawn with their heads being the main detail. I wish I could be more help.

Welcome, Danielle!
Do you want to carve a Webkinz out of a cupcake? It sounds pretty hard to me. Or do you want to use the cupcake for the main part of the body and blob out lots of buttercream for the arms and legs and head?

You don't like fondant .... have you heard of using Rice Krispy Treats to mold? It might give you a little more play. I haven't done it myself; but I have read a lot of posts by people who did.
