I will be transporting 4 cakes on Saturday. I have a 12 x 18 sheet cake, and 8, 10, & 12 in round cakes. I have containers for all of the cakes except the 12 in. round one. I have never transported cakes before and these are going about 70 miles! I found some tips on here such as using the non-skid shelf liner. Does anyone have any advice for the 12 in. round cake or any tips in general???

Wal-Mart has Duck brand boxes that come in various sizes. I've used their 14x14x14 in one for 12 in cakes before. Put some non skid shelf liner under the cake and you are good to go. I think they run around $3 per box.

Make sure all the boxes are on a flat surface for travelling. NO cakes on the seats. Easy on the bumps...and the corners! If its hot, keep the air con. on.

Thanks for the advice. The cakes got there in one piece! I ended up using a bunch of non slip shelf liner and a rubbermaid tub for the 12 inch round. It worked perfectly!!
