I'm going to attempt those wonderful sugar beer bottles I've seen on this site. I was wondering if anyone knew how long they would last - or in other words, how early can I make them before the day the cake is needed.

Thanks!
Kelly

OK this is a lame answer because I have no clue but my intuition tells me that since they are just made out of sugar, they'd last as long as any hard candy provided they are stored in a dry environment...i.e. a good long time. Humidity and pests should be your only enemies...

You might want to search the galleries for sugar bottles and PM a few people to ask them how far in advance they made em...or how long they were able to save them after they were removed from the cakes...

I made mine up at least a week ahead. They got shinyer( sp) the longer they sat but also got sticky. I was making them in the summer though when it was really humid. Don't put them in the refrigerator though...
