Has anyone used "cake jacks" system for stacking cakes or Earlene's cake stacking system? How did you like using either one? Was it easy to use?

I have not used them. I don't do many stacked cakes or I would rush out to get them as I hear they are wonderful to use. They do cost a lot though but from my understanding they are worth every penny.

I searched Google for Cake Jacks because I had no clue what you were talking about but here is a link to sugar craft where they are sold for under $5.~ icon_smile.gif HTH

seems a little expensive to buy these and of course you don't get them back...would "jack" up cake prices! icon_rolleyes.gif

I was thinking, if I decided to invest in them, I would charge for them and if I get them back I would charge a small rental fee. That's what I do for other equipment I want returned.

Use cake jacks ALL THE TIME!! LOVE THEM!! I have a "thing" about using wooden dowel rods. PLUS, I can never get all my straws or plastic dowels cut exactly the same height. These are GREAT for those of us that are "measurement challenged"LOL

With the exception of ONE shower cake I have always gotten mine back! I did a cake in Michigan and used these as well as lollipop sticks for extra support and the lady that cut the cake even sent the lollipop sticks back (washed and everything!) LOL

I have never had any trouble with the support factor when using them. NOW, having said that I always construct "on site" so if you are planning to travel with them....I wouldn't know!

My brother had asked me where did you get the wooden dowels from home depot and are they clean. I told him that I got them is a bag which comes from wilton. I kind of like the plastic dowels since they are easier to wash , but I think I am going to invest in those cake jacks.
