Hey Everybody,

I've posted a couple of times before and you've helped so I figured I might as well try again...my Brother-In-Law loves Peanut Butter Cups so I've decided to make a birthday cake for him in the shape of a peanut butter cup. My problem is this: after cutting/carving the ridges along the edge, how will I ice/frost it? I was thinking of thinning out icing and pouring it on but the only way that will work is if I turn it upside down, but then how will I turn it right side up to ice the top?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You could use a spatula on your chocolate icing making vertical stripes instead of smoothing the icing. That would give the look of ridges. It would be much easier than carving the cake and if your icing is put on pretty thick you would have deeper ridges.

You could pour it . . . . but I do like the idea of icing it, then using a spatula or butter knife to make the ridges on the sides. If you "over ice" on the top then use the spatula to make the ridges . . . it might make it "crown" a little like the peanut butter cup . . . . just an idea . . . hope you figure it out. PM me the pic when you get it done! My hubby LOVES pb cups and I've been looking for an idea for a cake!
