I have just had a call from a lady who has seen my work, and has asked me to do a wedding cake for her. OMG - my first official wedding cake (I have one to do next weekend, but they dont want it to look like a wedding cake as such, more of a birthday cake.)
So what sizes do I need for 90-100 people, she wants them to be square, 2 tiered with pillars in between.
Thanks I am desperate to find out as I have never quoted something like this and I am so totally excited.
Cheers
sq 12/9/6 3-4in will serve 99+ and its a really nice size not to big and not to small. 14/9 serves 111 14/8 serves 108 went to check my chart again 12/10 serves 100.
Go to www.earlenescakes.com
there is a serving chart on her site thats the one I use.
Most wedding cakes charts don't count the top tier in brides cakes, when listing the serving size. So be sure you double check the serving sizes of each pan, you intend to use. And you would need to know if they plan to serve the top tier or keep it for their anniversary.
If they want to eat the top you could make a 14/8.
If they do not want to eat the top tier you would need a large bottom tier like a 16" or larger & that might look odd. I would make the 14/8. Serve the 14" and have back-up sheet cakes to be served, to accomodate the 100 guests.
