Hi,

I'm thinking about applying for a job where I would make and design cookie bouquets. In the job description, they say "must be able to draw". I am able to draw a bit, but am not an expert drawer...I think I could handle cookie decorating (I've done a bit on my own).

Do you think I'd have to be able to draw to be hired to do this? I'm wondering if they will have me draw in an interview...don't want to embarress myself.

Has anyone else had to draw in the interview process?
Just wondering what you all think...

I would not know for sure- but I would doubt they'd make you draw on the spot!??? Maybe they'll ask for a portfolio of your work??? Sounds fun! If only I could trade in my teaching job!

I would think any drawing would be pretty basic. You can't get too complicted when you're dealing with icing! I'd say go for it. What's the worst that could happen? Think about the best outcome...getting the job! I envy you this opportunity.

Thanks for the responses. I actually have a regular 9-5 job and was hoping to be able to do this after work/ weekends. I think it would be a nice change.
I was just sitting here practicing my drawing...I draw like a 5 yr old!

We'll see how it turns out. I feel so nervous about applying though. There's a 1-3 hr "working interview". What could be taking place during that time???

I'm guessing they'll have you decorate a cookie or two and maybe do an arrangement to see how you handle that aspect of the job. Good luck!

i decorate cookies in my business. if i were you, i would take 3 or 4 cookies to show your skill to the interview. cookies are really just basic designs and lines. i don't think you need to be a sketch artist! good luck!!!
