Gumpaste Question

I made some gumpaste today. I used the Wilton recipe from the can of gumtex. It is resting. t is a little off white any way I get make it whiter. I don not have any bright white right now.

I think you're supposed to let it sit overnight, perhaps it will whiten then. HTH.

The gum paste made with gum tex will remain a grayish white--it's the nature of the gum tex. The pre-made Wilton gum paste is an ivory. The only bright white gum paste I've seen and used is the tylose recipe from Nick Lodge (it's on his website-- nicholaslodge.com).

It does work better if you let it rest overnight. It won't get bright white. I've used it making roses and either petal dust them when finished or color it prior to making flowers like you would fondant.
