I feel like such a newb asking this question....I am going to be using the Wilton 3-Tier Cake and Dessert Stand at a wedding this weekend. Do I still use cake boards for this or do I decorate the cakes directly on the plates provided with the stand? This is the first wedding cake I have done and I want to make sure I do everything right!!

I would use boards under the cakes, otherwise, your plates will get all messed up whe nthey cut the cake.

Bradley,

I always use cake boards.

1. it makes it easier to take the layers down for cutting
2. protects your cake stands.
