Once you have the impression mat, what do you do? Do they come with instructions? This may be a dumb question but do you roll your fondant, impression it and then cover the cake or put it on the cake first. I assume the impression would get messed up if you do it first but I don't know for sure. Any step by step instructions would be great! Thanks!

For my tiara cake (in photos), I covered the cake in fondant first and then rolled the impression mat around the sides, pressing firmly (you don't want a too thick a layer of buttercream under the fondant, or it will move with you pressing and might end up in a big bulge at the back!). You can always mark any spots that don't go deep enough with the back of a knife (non-sharp side). If it doesn't join up exactly, leave a space and join with a knife - for this reason, it's best to start at the back of the cake. Hope that helps!
