The competition was in October and I just got my photo. This is the one I had requested to have shipped to me, but had to chase it down.
It's called Twilight Over Tokyo. I received a silver medal (80 1/3 points) for it. Not bad for everything being an experiment.

Your cake is absolutely beautiful, I was admiring the photos you submitted in the gallery just now....You got "First Place" in my opinion..that Peacock and Fan is amazing, the whole cake is!!! I hope to someday be able to do a cake as beautiful as this one

WOW, that cake is beautiful! PLEASE tell me that you're a professional, so I don't feel so inadequate.
I've been doing this for 11 years, so I guess I'm a professional. I mostly consider myself obsessive-compulsive and a perfectionist.
Although the judges comments were not very complimentary, I was still happy with how it looked. It's the biggest cake I've ever done (the base cake is 8" tall). I had never made a bird, I had not stenciled with glass etching stencils, and I had not made this type of fan. The border was also an experiment using some tools I had gotten from Rosa Viacava de Ortega.
It was funny that the judges didn't seem to like it, but one of the judges told another contestant to use my flowers as an example of how to make flowers. 
This is also the one I threw away. Don't worry, I took off all the gumpaste stuff and just chucked the cake. It was damaged beyond repair. Another funny thing is people were stripping it as I was packing my other things. Someone took the cake board! It was cardboard! Others were picking at the fondant to see what was underneath. It was quite a show.
