Hello fellow CC bakers!

I think this is a rather silly question, but i've never torted a cake before. Does anyone have any tips or certain tools that they use? I have 2 christmas cakes due the 15th, and i'm still trying to PLAN! icon_cry.gif i LOVE the look of red velvet torted cake, and wanna give it a try, so any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

There are different opinions on what torting is!

However, if you want to make multi-layers of filled cake:

After the cake layers are level, just use same technique to create as many layers as you want.

I would say that 2" layers are easy to torte once and 3" layers are easy to torte twice (JMHO).
