Can You Roll Your Cookie Dough Out On Cornstarch?

Can i roll the no fail cookie dough out on corn starch or powdered sugar instead of flour? And I dont have a slipmat yet icon_sad.gif

I roll mine out between two pieces of either waxed or parchment paper, then put it in the fridge.......once the dough gets cold, either peels off easily

thats what i do as well just roll it out inbetween to sheets of parchment and put it in the fridge comes out great every time.

I do the parchment paper thing too, but if you don't have any and have to choose between the powdered sugar or cornstarch - it's powdered sugar all the way!! I also use it to dip my cutters into as it absorbs into the cookie better than flour.

I've done that, but the cornstarch stays on the back of the cookies (whereas the flour is absorbed during baking). I would think that the powdered sugar might melt and start to caramalise in the heat of the oven (welding your cookies to the baking sheet!). I'd either use the flour or go with rolling between parchment icon_smile.gif!
