Gumpaste hardens way too much for me...the flower petals chip off everytime I even look at them...I would like a happy medium between fondant and gumpaste...has anyone ever mixed the two?

...always! I think it's the best of both worlds by combining the two!

So this is something you do and this works well mixing together the two mediums...? For some reason, probably because I have never heard anyone talk about it, I thought it wouldn't be a good idea.

I go with a 50/50 mix and that seems to work great for me. It takes a little longer to dry than plain gumpaste but not really noticeable.
