Can mmf be placed on a cake iced in chocolate ganache?
I would like to tint my batter, I tried violet in white batter and the color was too pale. Would using more color give the batter a nasty taste?
I love the look of some of the cakes that are iced in the dark blue colors. I am concerned about discolored mouths (some might not appreciate it) to achieve this color using luster dust do I have to tint the icing that color or use a ld in the color and paint over the white crusted icing?
My favorite bc recipe does not crust; what to add to the recipe to make it crust?

2. I've tinted my batter with red and purple, I used the no taste red and regular purple and had no problem taste wise.
3. I did a cake for Valentines with red icing and OMG, it was a problem, my son had red teeth for about 3 days (trust me, brushing several times a day) and also, when he went to the bathroom... not pretty. It was for my son's preschool and Mom's were not happy! ![]()
4. And to make BC crust I add Merengue Powder.

To make a BC crust you need to have the proper proportions ofats (butter or crisco) to sugar. You need somewhere around 1 cup fat to 4-5 cups of powdered sugar.
Actually don't have my airbrush working yet, so don't know for sure! I think from a finished product standpoint, leaving the bc white and airbrushing over it would be fine. However, when you cut into it to serve, you might prefer the look of lightly tinted icing. Might also get a little better coverage if the bc was tinted a bit. Probably a personal preference.
