This recipe has a phenomenal flavor and texture! It uses all those yolks that I feel too guilty to just toss. Do not fill your pans more than halfway though, this stuff definitely rises!

I filled my pans too much. they overflowed then collapsed. The last pan, I didn't fill quite as much, it is looking perfect.

I was thinking to torte and fill with custard. Now, I'm not so sure it will get to that point...it is really good! uh...I've been nibbling...shhhh...it's a test cake...that's allowed, right?

I have this printed and saved in my cookbook, but haven't tried it yet...sounds like I might have to now!

I agree!!! I discovered this recipe a while ago on another site and it has become my favorite scratch yellow cake! And I always make my white cake recipe at the same time to use the egg whites. No more wastefulness!!!
