Marzipan Question

Could someone please tell me : What is marzipan? Is it edible? What do you use it for? How is it different from fondant or gumpaste?

Marzipan is a paste made from almonds & traditionally used to cover fruitcakes - then either cover with fondant, RI or leave it as is.
It is also used for modelling ( like fondant but softer )

IMO it tastes divine !!! I could eat a whole packet of it !!! icon_lol.gif
