I have a recipe that calls for egg whites and cream of tartar. Is there any way that I could do this without having to use the egg whites, instead use the meringue powder from wilton? Or does anyone out there have any suggestions? Anything willhelp thanks! ![]()
Are you trying to make meringue ghosts?
You can also use a marshmallow recipe which is
Homemade Marshmallows:
3 packages unflavored gelatin
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Combine the gelatin and 1/2 cup of cold water in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment and allow to sit while you make the syrup.
Meanwhile, combine the sugar, corn syrup, salt, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Raise the heat to high and cook until the syrup reaches 240 degrees F on a candy thermometer. Remove from the heat.

Marshmallow Ghosts ??? Never heard of them. Does anyone have any pics ?? Or know where to view a pic of them ?? Thanks !
The only picture I could find was this one but you dont have to dip it in chocolate. You can make them using a piping bag and make them look sort of like the Michelin Man. You can do it with meringue.
