I am baking today, and was wondering.. besides the beautiful cutout sugar cookies that you girls/guys create, what is your ONE cookie that you have to make every year for the holidays, or it just wouldn't be the same??

Mine is ginger cookies. I make them for my grandpa every year...they are his favorites!

Mine is Hamentaschen, even though it isn't Passover and we are not Jewish. My family and I love these cookies and I am asked to make them for just about any family gathering. I used apricot filling in some, raspberry in others and then drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze. SO good!

Real scottish shortbread for sure. My grandma made it every year, so it's a definate.

ShirleyW...I'll take mine with raspberry filling please. I love them.

I was baking today also...but there isn't just one for my family, everyone has their favorite. But for me it would be Hermits. They are my dads favorite and mom would make them every Christmas. I love them.

Great thread. Nice to know what others are baking.

Mine is pumpkin cookies. My family loves these. I make a batch at thanksgiving and at christmas.

It's a new(ish) cookie to me (6 years or so), but Coconut Mud Bars. One cousin opens immediately every year looking for them!

Russian tea cakes/ Mexican wedding cookies- whatever you call them. Everybody's favorite!

Mine would be Oatmeal Lace Cookies. I would be in big trouble if I didnt make them!!!

springles - im not really sure how to spell it but its pronounced shpringlees, they're german and have anise seeds in them. yummm my mom always made them only at christmas time

Sadly my girls will not let me bake anything but my sugar cookies, but I think this year I will be trying some new recipes to add to my christmas treats.
