I was planning on using a cake dummy for my cake final for class I.

They're so light! How do you secure one to a cardboard round? Seems like it would just "fly away".

Thanks for your help.

you can use a daub of icing on the bottom of the dummy cake to secure it to the cake round... it won't stick like krazy glue, but it should do the trick.

I've done a few Dummy wedding cakes and I secure them with those wood shis-ka-bob skewers. It works great. I use foam board covered with whatever paper desired and skewer right through the cake dummy into the foam board in several places. I haven't had any problems doing it that way yet!!

I use small ring shank nails on the bottom of the board into the dummy and it won't go anywhere.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I can rest easy that my "dummy" won't slide away.

Hot glue or royal icing will do the trick very nicely.
