I have been searching the apple cake recipes since I want to try one. I have found a number that look great.
My questions are about substitutions/omissions:
1) I don't like raisins, and was wondering what would happen if I just left them out.
2) My son is allergic to peanuts, and we don't let him eat other kinds either. Can I just leave the nuts out too? Or should I increase another ingredient to compensate?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I never use nuts in my baking (I don't like them IN anything, will eat them alone) and I've never had any sort of problem with any recipe. Nuts, raisins, chocolate chips etc are usually added to recipes as "flavor enhancements" then critical ingredients like say...sugar ![]()
Hope that helps and I'm sure your recipe will still be delish!
Absolutely nothing will happen if you leave the raisins out. If you want to replace them with another solid item such as cherries, pineapple, banana, you can. As long as it does not contain liquid then you can substitute the raisins or simply leave that ingredient out altogether.
