I made this 12x15 with a 7 1/2 in round, it is all buttercream icing and has a cheesecake mousse filling. I am not good at pricing cake, I was wondering what all you cc's thought. I would love the help, my grandmother had me make it for a 25th Anniversary. Thanks.

I don't know what pricing is like where you are, but for a 12 x 15 cake, I would charge $60.00 and for a 7 1/2 in round, I would charge $25.00 for my base rate. For all buttercream, I wouldn't go much more expensive, but I'm not sure about your filling -- so I would say at least $85.00.

Beautiful work!

I make that about 55-60 party size servings, so from me it would cost $140.

I'd also say 75-85depending on your filling and the # of servings there. Plus time. So that seems a fair estimate to me.

Beautiful cake! Wish I could make roses like that... icon_cry.gif

I make great cabbages, though. icon_redface.gif

Around here, I'm saying that cake would easily be about $85-$100.

Cost of materials ( ingredients, structural stuff ), then add to this 2% of the total of the cost of materials, then multiply this cost by 4 for the total price. (Some people multiply by 3.) The .2% covers things like electricty, the small amt ingredients such as vanilla extract, cleaning supplies etc that you can't break the cost down for. So if the ingredients cost $15.00, structural stuff like cake board and foil cost $3.00 that totals $18.00. 2% of 18 is $3.60. Add this to $18.00 to equal $21.60. Multiply $21.60 by 4 to equal $86.40, which would be the price of the cake.

I have low prices but I have to agree with the $120

I've seen people pay that for a cake that couldn't hold a candle to this one.

I love it, it's is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I'm a little confused. 2% of $18 is $0.36, not $3.60. Did you mean 2% or 20%?

OOPS! So right. It is 2%, which is then cost of materials multiplied by .2. Sorry! I should have used the calculator.
