I just tried a cake extender recipe with an instant pudding mix and I'm hooked. I want to try more. I wonder if there is a difference between vanilla and French vanilla pudding mixes. This recipe calls for a yellow cake box mix, vanilla pudding box, 4 eggs, 1 cup sour cream, .5 cup oil, .5 cup water. I used regular vanilla pudding mix. Anyone think French vanilla would be better?

Also, I wanted to make strawberry cake cupcakes. I checked JELLO.com and there is no such thing as strawberry instant pudding. What flavor would you pair with a strawberry cake mix...vanilla, FV, or cheesecake?
thanks

I used the Strawberry cake recipe by Steady2Hands in the cake mix cakes section and received very good reviews. It calls for strawberry gelatin!

The expanded flavors version of the WASC cake has a strawberry variation. You can use strawberry nectar, gelatin, berries, yogurt and cake mix.

(It's not recommended to add instant pudding to this doctored recipe. Too much sugar in a cake recipe will cause the baked cake to sink.)
