I'm trying to buy a decorating mat, I check cc shop but nothing... I also googled it and found bakedeco.com but they don't have what i'm looking for and what they did have was expensive. Does anyone know where I can buy these? and are they really $70 or so?

Do you mean impression mats or the non stick silicone mats?

My favorite are from two places and neither is really an impression mat as such, but they work beautifully for that. One is called rubbing plates and they come in dozens of patterns. They are from Dick Blick, click on the thumbnails to enlarge and see the patterns available.

The others are actually chocolate texture sheets, not the same as transfer sheets, these are heavy plastic with an embossed design. Scroll down and click on thumbnails to see patterns. I especially like the Crocodile, I used it for my daughters pink chocolate purse cake. They come 5 sheets to a package and can be washed, dried and reused. Here is the purse cake made with the Crocodile texture sheet.

I love this one, http://www.bakedeco.com/detail.asp?id=5740&manufacid=424.

BUT - they are sold in packs of 5 for $17.50. I would love to have one or two of each, NOT five. Anyone want to go in on some of these? It would be great to pick 5 patterns, and have 5 people each that wanted a set. Then we could split them up and each have a 'set' of 5 different ones for around $20! That's pretty good considering one usually runs $5 or more.

Anyone besides me want to do this? I would be willing to collect the $ from whoever is interested, place the order, get the order and then sort them into sets, and then mail them out. PM me and let me know.

Have a good day ya'll,

You could do that but if you are looking at the ones like the Crocodile they are only $9.95 for 5 sheets, scroll down a bit further. And I found I used all of them when making the chocolate covered purse, same would hold true if you did it in fondant. You cut sections of the texture sheets into patterns for the sections of the purse. The plastic is washable and reuseable but if you cut them into patterns you will want to save them just for that use.
