Please Advise Me! Can I Halve A Recipe?

i'm making the baby food carrot cake recipe on here and i think i will need a bit more batter, can i halve the recipe and it be o.k. does anybody know?

I would try a half recipe by itself and bake it to see how it turns out...we learnt in school that even though it's usually easy to double a recipe often it's a bad idea to half one. You won't know for sure until you try...
