I finished this at lunchtime:

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=bonjovibabe&cat=0&pos=1

It has been in the fridge for a few hours, but I want to take it out and leave it out overnight now for 3 reasons:

1. Don't want the royal icing in the cookies to get soft and start falling off.

2. The chocolate has gone dull from the cold and is starting to lift from the board :-0.

3. I had to remove 2 shelves in the fridge to fit it in (I barely got it in there), so I only have 1 functioning shelf left, and I want to get my shelves and chilled goods back in there!

So, my question is, do you think it'll be OK sat out overnight? It's all butter buttercream, about 18C in the kitchen (but will get considerably colder when the heating gets turned off overnight), no perishable fillings, and due for delivery at 10am (about 14 hours from now).

It should be OK, right??? It's well dowelled and has a central dowel, so I'm hoping that delivering it unchilled won't create a problem!

First of all, amazing cake!! And yes, I think it will be fine. I would drape it with plastic wrap and call it a day. It's cold enough in my house that nothing would melt anyways! Great job.

I have never worked with butter buttercream, but I would think it would be ok.

I would have to agree with cassandrascakes. Cover it and go relax. By the way, awesome cake.

If you didn't live so far away I would say, "Just send it to my house." Awesome cake and yes, I think it will be just fine setting out.

Great job! I love the cake! It should be fine. I just boxed a cake up last night and left it in my van. It got down around 20 degrees overnight, so I figured it'd be ok.....it was! thumbs_up.gif

Amazing cake!! Beautiful job! From what I understand if there are no perishable fillings, than I think you're just fine leaving it out overnight!!! thumbs_up.gif
