Ok I was at the store the other night and I saw a small box that had "DREAM WHIP" written on it... so I grabbed it remembering I saw somewhere on here someone said to use it for something lol.

Now my question... WHAT DO I USE IT FOR?!?!?! lol. I searched recipes and didn't see anything really come up except a few cake recipes that I wouldn't make.... I thought it had something to do with making the icing taste better or perform better... I dunno anyone else know why I bought it lmao

LOL, that's funny, I love it! I tried a recipe for filling with it yesterday. I think I found the recipe here. It was dream whip, 1 and 1/2 c milk and a small box of jello pudding. Personally, I didn't care for it. Thought it had an aftertaste. I hope you like it though! That's the only recipe I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck with it. icon_smile.gif

I use Dream Whip (1 packet) for every cake I make. I use Duncan Hines Deluxe cake mixes (any flavor), 4 eggs, 1 cup of water and the Dream Whip. Not sure about using it in icing?

I think so too! I also have been told by customers, that the cakes last longer, as far as freshness icon_smile.gif Not sure if the Dream Whip has anything to do with that though.... They do seem to be moister.

If you sift your cake mix you almost can't tell it is a box mix from the taste or texture of the cake! I found this out by accident - I sifted cake mix thinking I was sifting confectioners sugar!!!!

I'm so glad you posted this! I did the same thing a month ago and I have a package of Dream Whip sitting in my pantry. Couldn't remember what it was for and couldn't find much info when searching.

lol I'm glad someone was inside my head when I bought that darn box lol. I remember now I got it to try the cake mix thing.... I sifted my cake mix one day after reading here that someone does it often... I messed up the sifter lol so I'm thinking I need to buy one of those mesh strainer thingies and use that instead I have two small ones I use for dusting stuff with powdered sugar and cocoa powder but need a big one for the cake mix and powdered sugar for BC lol... Thanks yall I knew someone would know why I bought it icon_biggrin.gif

I remember when it was a real popular thing to do several years ago. I googled Dream Whip and sometimes it's hard to believe the sites that come up. icon_redface.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

There is a buttercream recipe on this site that uses buttercream. It is named "butter cream icing". I have made this several times and really like it and it crusts really well.
