How long will buttercream frosting last in the fridge?

Can I leave it in my bags with the tips in place?

How long should it sit at room temp before I can use it again?

You guys are the best! icon_smile.gif

Buttercream will stay nice and fresh in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, up to 3 months if you freeze it. Yes, you can put the bags of frosting with the tips in place. I do this all the time, I just stick the back in a rubbermaid container and put a lid on it. After you take it out of the fridge, you can use it as soon as it will come out of the bag. If you use a recipe with butter in it, it will take longer.

I usually "work" mine with a spatula before putting it on a cake. I also wait about 30 minutes before using (or room temp).
