That wood that your make chalkboards with? It is about 1/4" thick. I am thinking of using these as separators. I saw someone use them on a cake challenge. It is just tiring to lose the separators at weddings and card board just doesn't cut it.

on foodnetwork, there was a guy who uses them. He cuts them to a special size to separate cakes when stacking them.

The cardboard on my last one drooped.

nic I think that you are talking about masonite. It comes in varying thicknesses from 1/8" to 5/8" . Its durable, can be covered and last a while. It's usually sold in 4'x8' sheets but you can have the guys at the lumberyard cut it to size for ya. You also might want to check their scrap pile. There might be some good stock in there that is useable.
