anybody ever made cream cheese icing with crisco (or high ratio) instead of butter to achieve a whiter color? possibly add some butter flavoring for the taste?

No, but I must say, CC icing is by far one of the best I've ever tasted. I would presume you could do that, although I find that with some refrigeration and a stablizer, it works fine with butter.

The Crusting Cream Cheese Icing recipe in the Recipe forum here is white. Easy to work with too. Makes ALOT of icing though.

The whipped cream frosting with cream cheese folded in has been the best for me.

I have made the crusting cream cheese (on the mini cake in my gallery) it wasn't white like buttercream. the cake I have to do is white yellow and blue. I have explained that it probably wont be WHITE but I would prefer for it to be... i have some cream cheese so maybe I will test it on DH in a few days.

Is the whipped cream frosting a recipe on here?
