I happen to live in a town where they make sugar from beets and you think bone char is bad they use lime to extract the sugar out of the beets here. You sure can tell how much sugar is in the beets by just the smell coming from the factory icon_biggrin.gif

icon_eek.gificon_lol.gif Oooooo would I have loved to see that. If so, I probably would have wet my pants from laughing so hard!!!!!!! icon_lol.gif People collect lots of things, but how many people collect their memories each week of things that make them laugh, even if they aren't memories from that week? My husband and I have sooooooo many that I finally decided to buy a small hard-cover book, fittingly embossed 'Love Notes'. Whenever something funny comes up, as soon as I can, I jot down a quick note that will trigger the memory when we read them later...like the time he put his finger in front of the hole at the end of a bb gun to feel if it was just shooting air cuz he couldn't tell if bb's were even coming out. (He at least had the sense to point it toward the ground with his finger over the end!!! icon_rolleyes.gif)...yeah, it hurt he said icon_lol.gif

It very well could be regional, we hardly ever see cane sugar around here. We live in North Dakota where alot of sugar beets are grown, especially down in the Red River Valley by Fargo and Grand Forks. In the fall when they're trucking them they'll be beets on the roads, I've heard of low cars getting hung up on big beets.

I agree. I'm in the northeast, and everything up here is cane sugar. Personally, I don't think I would ever buy anything with the word "beet" on it anyways - I hate, despise, can't stand them. They are one of the few foods that I just hate.

As far as the bag popping I had that happen to me once before but it was the cashiers fault she went to put it in a bag after scanning it and she squeezed it too hard and poof. She told me that she always checks the bags because of the holes in them they have had too many returns because of it.
