Hello all. I have a request for cake for 200 people. It will be for a fire departments 200 dinner. I am wondering what to do with these cakes as all I was told is they want the maltese cross on them. Does anyone have any ideas as what to do with four full sheet cakes? I have been looking through the gallery and have come up with some great ideas. I think with this much cake in mind I should keep it pretty simple to the point. I was thinking about getting edible images for the cake and be done with them. Thats too easy in my eye, so I am asking you all for some help as to make them a WOW cake but simple and easy? Hit me with ideas. Thanks Megan

My first question for you is what size are you considering a full sheet cake?

I consider a 18x24 a full sheet cake and with 2x2x2 serving I get 108 servings out of it so you would only need 2 full sheet cakes (might help eliviate some of the time with them) Another option would be to make a double layer full sheet cake (or two double layer half sheets) and you would get the same amount of servings, could even add some filling if you wanted. The servings for the double layers would be 1x2x4 but it is still the same amount of cake.

As for a design I would suggest scoring them so whoever cuts knows how to cut. Then decorate the middle of it (approximately a quarter sheet size) with the emblem and whatever else you want.

I am at work now, but when I get home tonight I can post a picture of what I am talking about b/c i don't have one in my photos.

Okay my pan I have I thought was a half sheet pan 12x15. So is that consider a half of full?

I would consider that close to a half sheet. But again this is why I don't use the terms quarter, half, full, because everyone uses different sizes.

Ok so my pan is a half to what people know. So for this cake I would need a total of four, placing two of them side by side. Right? Does anyone have ideas as to how I should decorate them?
