Okay. When making a "beach" themed cake, what would be the sand. I've heard graham crumb, brown sugar, raw sugar. What do ya'll suggest? Which would taste better on a cake? And is there any articles in here explaining how to get those beautiful sea shells I've been seeing?
Thanks for all your opinions.

i think graham crumbs taste better than sugar, the texture is what gets me with the brown sugar. i like the mouthfeel of the grahams better

I used brown sugar on my sponge bob cake. It worked well because since it is a little moist it stayed in place. I havent tried anything else, so I dont know what is best.

I used graham cracker crumbs on my sponge bob cake but I read the other day in another forum that you could use crused vanilla waffers.
