I need help/advice on how best to attach the decorations I have made for the attached cake. This topper is a dummy cake that will most likely be kept for awhile and I want to make sure that everything stays in place.
The part I'm having trouble figuring out are the leaves that I have in a more standing position and the acorns that might have a tendency to roll. Will wetting the fondant be enough to keep everything in place or are there other secrets to help secure the items? I think for my curly sticks I am going to stick them into a ball of fondat and then attach the ball to the base - I can easily cover this with leaves.
Please any help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Not all my leaves are painted and finished yet! ![]()
I agree with the royal, especially if you are keeping it. But there is a gum glue recipe out there somewhere as well. You could probably use either one, but I dont' think I would go with just water.
Beautiful arrangement! ![]()
Thanks guys! I used the royal icing - first time i've used it - and it seems to have worked great. Everything was still standing this morning and seems to be stuck like glue! ![]()

I agree with the RI. What a beautiful idea!!! I would never thought of that.
