would adding the wilton bright white (the stuff that whitens icing) work on mmf? trying to get a pure white but it seems more off white by itself.

I've noticed mine looks off white when I first make it but after it sets up and I knead it, it seems to be a pretty good white.

I think MMF is a pretty good white, but it isn't "bright" white. I don't see why adding Wilton Bright White to the fondant would hurt anything and it may make the MMF a brighter white. Let us know.

I remember someone posting a tip that you can add a drop or 2 of violet coloring to whiten your mmf. Haven't tried it yet though.

I've used the violet trick on bc but haven't tried it on mmf. It takes a tiny amount with bc-not even a drop. I put a little bit on the tip of a toothpick and then add more if I need it.

If you use marshmallow fluff instead of marshmallows you will get a brighter white.

Is the marshmallow fluff that "marshmallow creme" that they sell in the supermarket, or is something else?

It's the Kraft stuff.

same stuff. If they do not have it in a big jar, buy two smaller ones. Careful with the amount of sugar because it does not measure out exactly the same.

It comes out kinda shiny icon_biggrin.gif

I've used the wilton white stuff, and it does help a little!

I recently made two separate batches of MMF using about 1 1/2 teaspoons of Wilton whitener stuff in only one batch (each batch used 16 oz of marshmellows). I could tell which batch had the whitener - it made a noticeable difference. I added the whitener to the marshmellows during the melting process. The whitened MMF is still a tad ivory, but... Next time I'll try the violet in the whitened MMF. The violet does help in my all-butter frosting, for sure.

You can use the bright white. Just mix it in when melting the MM. The more the brighter. Actually you can use it in anything that is edible. I add it to my sugar cookie dough to get solid white cookies for my snowflakes. Works like a charm.
