Can anyone give me some tips on how to attach real or fake flowers to wedding cakes? And also, I'm seeing a lot of ribbon around the bottom of cakes used as trim. I've been cake decorating for about 2 years, but I've only done 2 wedding cakes. I got another wedding for this coming February and she is interested in ribbon and silk flowers on the cake. I've only done BC flowers and never any ribbon. What is the best way to attach these items to the sides or tops of cakes? Please help.

For fresh flowers you can use flower spikes. Wilton makes some. You can fill with water and you stick them right into the cake and then put the stems in the spike.
