Speaking Of Pricing...what Do You Think???

That blue and green package cake (see photos) I did that you all helped me so much with was originally $35, but she paid me $40 (before seeing it) which I was grateful for. Looking at it, how much would you have charged? I used 3 box mixes and the big cake had Oreo cookies and cream filling. The party was only for about 20 people and they had 1/3 of the cake left. It's a 9" square bottom (took 2 boxes to make the two layers), 4"square top...
I got two orders after making this cake. And now I'm wondering what to charge. I have kept prices down so far to get my name out there in my community, but I'm putting a LOT of time and effort into each cake and feel I should charge a bit more? Or maybe I'm putting so much time because I'm so inexperienced and have a lot of learning to do. It's not so quick and easy for me, like you pro's! lol : )
just wondering...

I would have charged at least $65.00 for that cake. I charge $50.00 just for a basic 9-10 inch square present cake.
Yep! I'm with MomOf4.
I think the BARE MINIMUM for that type of cake would have been $50.
You might think of pricing by the number of mixes you use, etc.
On a 3 mix cake I'd be right at $65. 2 mixes would be around $50.
By the way, your cake is very pretty! ![]()

They really got a bargain from you - I would have charged at least $50! Remember, does not matter how many will be at the party, but charge either by multiplying your costs by either 3 or 4, or charge per serving (which depends on the size of the cake). You do nice work - raise your prices!
