hi everyone
i was asked to make the cake appear as if blood was dripping down the sides of the cake and i wanted to know that if the white chocolate was tinted would that work? can it be tinted red using the red gel paste or red liquid food colouring? any advice would be greatly appreciated... ![]()
hi peg818,
so i can melt them down with the cream and it would have the same effect?
thanx
yes you can melt down the red candy with the cream and it will have the same effect as the white candy. I have used gel colors with success after the chocolate has been added to other things (like cream, icing, corn syrup) Just don't try the colors straight into just melted chocolate or you will sieze it.
exactly... choc + a little liquid = mess, choc + a lot of liquid = ganache. White chocolate ganache tends to be very thin so I am afraid that it would keep dripping and not give you the look you want. It is possible to make it thick enough to do this effect, but its almost sooo much chocolate to cream that it breaks. I would use JUST red candy melts and not make ganache if I were you.
