So, today I got my new espresso machine hooked up and I went to the Hotel Lobby to 'sample' out the coffee...
One of the women ( head honcho from what she tells me ) comes downstairs and puts in an order for a cake.
Now...she orders a BLACKBERRY for one of her employees...ok..I can do that...
But she wants the buttons to MAKE NOISE!! 
I CAN"T DO that!!
So, I'm thinking, I may be able to get away with making a cake and throwing an edilble image on it...but, as I was printing out the picture of the blackberry...my delivery guys says: " I don't think she want's a cake with a PICTURE of a phone on it"..
Oh, SHUT UP! 
What do you know! lol
So, I guess I'm going to have to roll out the fondant and start to cut out all the little phone buttons! and figure out if I can make them beep somehow....UGH.
I'm a cake docorator lady..not a magician!

Okay, YOU CAN DO THIS! Spencers has the hand buzzer things, and there are other options.
What about those singing bday cards? Put the little button thingy in the ON button on the blackberry. Get a kid's "cell phone" and bury it in the cake so only the screen shows, roll fondant over so the buttons show under it? See, you can do it!
somepeople have a real odd sense of we are supposed to be able to pull outta our hats! This is real life...not Rocky & bullwinkle here folks. I hope if you are going to all the trouble of coming up with this awesome idea here she is compensating appropriately. Not to sound mean or scroogey, just GEEESH! Let's make this a difficult cake at a very busy time why don't ya! Oh well! More sense of acomplishment and neat ideas for you. Deff have to put a pic of it on here when finished....I guess we'll need video too....with all this beeeping to hear!
Tell her to get a beeper, stand by the receiver of the cake, so she can make a beep everytime they touch the buttons.....who in the world is gonna go around touch a cake anyway?!?!?!!?

Here is what I would do.......hook it up a Lazy Suzan with a gismo the makes the cake spin, turns on lights and has a band play a welcoming march!
Oh maybe you can even get it to release confetti and balloons too!!!!!!

She wouldn't be paying me enough. I'm going to do the cake cover it in fondant...cut out the buttons and decorate them with edible markers and do the screen in edible paper.
If she doesn't like it she can order her next Blackberry cake from my competitor...her prices start at $250.00!

One suggestion... find a dollar store, go buy a bunch of those doggy and kitty squeeky toys and take them apart and take the squeeker out and place it under the numbers Or maybe just one... under the 5 kids toy phones normally only have one squeeker and it's located under the 5 and it squeekes when the whole face is pressed... just an idea to give her what she wants and still I'd charge her an extra 10 or 20 bucks to make it squeeke

Original! A cake phone that actually works what next? A cake that does dishes and laundry? Can you make one of those for me? I don't think it would be safe to hide something in it to make sounds since someone would eat part of it and choke and sue you. Not that it is a funny idea! (not the choking part) If she wants noises when people finger it (gross) then have her hire you at $100 and hour to make the sounds. With a 2 hour min of course!
oh my nothing boring about this cake!!! put one of those kid phones next to it they can push the buttons on that for the beeps. This is a new one...Im laughing so hard...MC
