How much do you ususally charge for a cupcake cake? I was thinking the same price that I would charge per dozen.
Any suggestions?
I did a strawberry shortcake and only charged $25. (for a friend) Hope this doesn't sound too low.
I am a hobbyist so I mainly just charge for ingredients plus a little extra. For small ccc (about 18-20 cupcakes) I charge $20, medium (about 23-3-25 cupcakes) $25 and a large (about 28-30 cupcakes)$30.
I generally use the cake mix extender recipe from this site, which everyone seems to love (I do substitute whole milk for water), this gives me about 28-29 cupcakes per batch.
I made 14 and charged $15. It was for a friend and she was helping me use word of mouth for some possible orders. I did find out they LOVED them (no pics of course) and wanted a "price list" of items. Haha NO, not going to get caught up in that. Told my friend that she could have them call me and we can discuss what the need was and go from there. She plans on having me make all the cakes/cuppers etc for her when she has a need.
I charge a minimum of $2.00 a cupcake if they are for an order. In our area here in CA they sell them in the stores for $4.50 each so people are ok with spending $2-3 a cupcake. I had to bake 500 scratch carrot cake and cream cheese icing cupcakes and I only charged $2.00 a piece, I forgot how much time it takes to make them all from sratch and as I was grating the last carrot I decided if I ever do that again I will charge more

I charged $50 for the gecko cupcake cake in my gallery and the customer was really surprised, she was expecting to pay a lot more. That ended up about $2 per cupcake.
That was for 24 cupcakes. I think? I can't remember now. I just assume 24. LONG DAY!
Thanks everyone for your help. I truly appreciate it. I quoted her a price of $25 for a 24 cupcake cake. I think that is reasonable.
