Candy Clay???

hello everyone i have a question i have some cady clay leftover from a class i am taking and i was wondering can i use it to cover a cake like fondant, i am doing a cake to look like a gingerbread house and i was wondering if i could use the clay to cover the cake so i don't have to make fondant. if i can what do i have to do to the cake to make it stick? buttercream? a glaze? please someone help icon_redface.gif

Cover the cake in buttercream first, you do not need it to be real heavy, just enough for the candy to stick, when you lay it over the cake. You could use a glaze, but the buttercream will have a good flavor and add to the moisture of the cake.
